“Dogs' lives are too short. Their only fault really.”    Agnes Sligh Turnbull

Some experiences change your life forever.

When I lost my young dog (a Cavoodle called Buddy) suddenly in a tragic accident, I got so much comfort from the professional photos we had taken of him the year before he died. Wanting to help other pet parents to capture similar memories, I re-trained as a photographer at the Photo School in Kapiti, and started up Paw Prints Photography NZ (specialising solely in animal photography).

If I was granted one wish, it would be for our pets to have the same lifespans as us. But they don't, and we’re never ready for them to leave our sides, so it makes sense to capture their essence now and forever, with beautiful, authentic images and artwork that truly reflect who they are, and what they mean to you.

Our pets are fully-fledged members of the family who love us unreservedly and unconditionally, and we love them right back. So whether you’ve got a playful pup, a comatose cat or a fabulous filly, I would be honoured to help you record forever the impact they have on your life—and your heart.

As New Zealand's only full-time-travelling, specialist animal photographer, I can pretty much go anywhere you need me to be. Get in touch to find out when I'm likely to be in your area next!

At Piha Beach with Dame Lisa Carrington and her boy Colin, shooting for the 2026 Colindar

About the 2026 Colindar

In January this year, I took a week away from photographing clients' dogs, and flew to Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland to shoot with Colin 'the Cavoodle' Carrington for five, fantastic, full-on days! His Mum, Olympic kayaking champion Dame Lisa Carrington, kindly allowed me to photograph Colin for a 2026 calendar that will raise money for  Save the Kiwi. Dame Lisa is an Ambassador for the charity, whose mission is to take kiwi from endangered to everywhere.

As part of my business commitment to giving back, I am donating all of my time for free, so that 100% of the profits raised from Colindar sales (i.e. sales less printing/despatch costs) can be donated to Save the Kiwi.

The project quickly became known between us all as 'the Colindar' (rather than 'Colin's calendar') and the name just kinda stuck! Dame Lisa and her husband Michael were so generous with their time (and Colin's) which allowed me to shoot a wide variety of images across a number of locations to make it extra special. I loved every minute of our shoots, and hope that anyone who buys the Colindar enjoys the results just as much ❤️
